About the Program:
Mills House is a community-based group home which provides 24 hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for 5 boys aged 14-21 who have experienced serious emotional and behavioral problems. The home allows the boys to live in a more familial, natural setting within the community.Duties & Responsibilities:Demonstrates an understanding of child development relevant to the age group of the home, intervening to promote development.Supports family connections by welcoming parents and facilitating visits.Builds positive, nurturing relationships with youth.Teaches and supports a broad range of skills including emotional regulation and daily living skills.Understands complex trauma and its effects on youth.Contributes to a safe, nurturing home environment.Supports youth routines including personal care and recreational activities.Transports youth when necessary.Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate's degree or 2 years of college with minimum 2 years of relevant experience acceptable.Experience:
Substantial youth/adolescent experience required.Licensure/Certification:
