As a Solution Architect specializing in integrating products into Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, you will deliver solutions that use UpToDate’s deep clinical decision support knowledge in clinicians’ workflows. You will work closely with teams that include medical editors, informaticists, software engineers, implementation teams, and partners. You have significant experience building and integrating CDS functionality into hospital EHRs. You will report to an Associate Director, Product Software Engineering.Work Location:

RemoteResponsibilities:Architectural design:

Design solutions considering scalability, performance, resilience, availability, maintainability, security, deployment, testing, and monitoring needs.Technical leadership:

Provide technical leadership and guidance for development and implementation of integrated solutions.Solution Development:

Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement CDS applications.Software Testing:

Work with software test engineers to develop deep and detailed test coverage.Partner Collaboration:

Understand team requirements and challenges, acting as the subject matter expert.Innovation and Research:

Stay informed about changes in CDS and EHR integration landscapes, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, design decisions, and processes.Experience:Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.10+ years of development experience with 3+ years at a Principal Engineer or Architect level.Experience in FHIR, SMART on FHIR applications, integrations with Epic EHR.Familiarity with CDS Hooks standard, Clinical Query Language (CQL), Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG), or similar.Experience with agile engineering practices (Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, SOLID, Refactoring, etc.).Knowledge of software development best practices, patterns, and principles.Application Program Interface (API) specification and development, including REST services.Experience with building and deploying solutions using Microservices Architectures (MSA).Experience with DevOps techniques and tools.Experience working on distributed teams.Track record of bringing complex engineering programs to completion on time and on budget.Evaluate the effects of technical choices with respect to SDLC best practices, user functionality, application performance, and technical debt.Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure is a plus.Compensation:Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $176,600-$249,950.
