Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's. 13 Weeks, Every other Weekend/Holiday. Open Heart Trained. Job Requirements BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Department: ICU RN. of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16. Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress. Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation. Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630. Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling. Weekend Requirements: Every other. Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group. Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg. How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shifts. Unit Specific Information Are RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs required to read and interpret. Additional Details Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630. RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) RNs required to read and interpret. No blocked scheduling or same schedule/shifts, must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
