Overview:

Fairview Range is hiring a Benefits Specialist for Human Resource Department in Hibbing, MN.As a Benefits Specialist, you will be the main point of contact for leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, patricularly those falling under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans. You will be tasked with processing and responding to leave requests under the supervision of the Benefits Coordinator. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, as well as the 403(b) plan. You will develop knowledge of benefits offered to all employee groups.Schedule:

This position will work 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the day shift. Weekends: None. Location: This in an on-site position needed to provide a service to employees with leave or benefit questions.Benefits:

This includes classifying the leave type, making case decisions, tracking in accordance to allotted entitlement, performing follow up as required to employee, medical provider and manager and completing the return to work process.Ensuring the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.Distributing all benefits enrollment materials and determining eligibility.Responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.Responding to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Handles the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.Assisting with the open enrollment process.Providing necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.Maintaining highly confidential employee personal health information and files. Maintaining HIPAA compliance.Adheres to regulatory compliance, union contracts and pay policies.Providing Support for HR and benefit functions.Developing effective working relationships at all levels.Exhibiting professional communication skills in the workplace exhibiting compassion and empathy with a customer service focus.

Qualifications:Required QualificationsAA Degree2 years prior experience in human resources including FMLA, Leaves, and benefit administration.1-3 years of experience in HR or related field.Preferred QualificationsThree to Five years experience.Bachelors degree in HR or related field.
