Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced
Lead Litigation Paralegal
who will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing our litigation operations. This individual will be instrumental in establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and will serve as the blueprint for future hires in this role. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong background in high-volume consumer protection litigation, particularly on the plaintiff side.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Operations:
Develop and implement SOPs for the litigation department.Set standards and best practices for paralegal functions within the firm.Mentor and guide junior paralegals as the team grows.
Case Management:
Manage a high-volume docket of consumer protection and debt settlement cases.Coordinate with attorneys to prepare for court proceedings and negotiations.Oversee all aspects of case preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and timely communication.Guide clients through the legal process, addressing any questions or concerns.
Compliance and Research:
Stay updated on federal and state consumer protection laws, including FDCPA, FCRA, TILA, and others relevant to our practice.Ensure all legal activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on consumer protection/debt settlement law.Proven experience in high-volume case management.Plaintiff-side litigation experience is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with legal case management software and technology tools.Ability to develop and implement operational procedures.
