VMware Support Engineer

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Maintain multiple cloud environments infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Virtual Network, Hypervisor, Backups, DR, and Monitoring).

Facilitate resolution of trouble tickets escalated to the support team when necessary.

Execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.

Document procedures, and processes for use by other cloud operators.

Provide support for customer base.

Works closely with Architects, Security and Compliance to patch, address and mitigate vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements.

Implement Architecture designs and updates.

Ensure proper monitoring and alerting configuration of infrastructure components.

Minimum skills:

4-6 years of experience in large enterprise VMWare environment.

Experience with VMware, vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) in operational support role.

Specific duties to validate

Design and implement VMware vSphere virtualization solutions, including server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components.

Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots.

Implement and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation.

Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Education:

Bachelors Degree
