Job description:Monitor and maintain the connectivity between different locationsAssist end users with system knowledge related to user authentication user management file configuration storage access and backup and navigation through filesManage network communication utilitiesMonitor server and desktop CPU storage memory usage leveraging tools for eye on the glass monitoring using tools like task manager event viewer to investigate performance and security issuesSet repository install update and remove packagesManage network printers file sharingDeploy configure and maintain systems including software and core servicesCreate and configure file system and attributes such as permissions access controls list encryptions and network file systemWork closely with security team to design and deploy security specific packages across serversResearch schedule test and patch systems per schedules and requirements Determine patch interactivities between systems and applications to limit downtimeMaintain server patch versions as per the standards and provide the monthly patching compliance reportDesign and implement hardening configurations across operating systems Research test validate hardening configurations suggested by the Infosec department to understand impact to global application libraryDesignManageOptimize DFS namespace entries and namespace servers for creation deletion and modificationResolve server issues and update hardware requirements including scoping equipment to fit needsOperate running systems including booting into different run levels identifying processes startstop virtual machines and controlling servicesProvide L1L2L3 infrastructure support for onpremise Azure Gov Azure CommercialAWS Commercial GCP and Oracle Cloud environmentsPerform incident service catalog problem change managementDeploy workloads via automated workflows using PowerShell scripts Terraform Ansible ARM templates DevOps PipelinesArchitect design implement maintain and optimize all serverrelated systems including hypervisor virtual machines virtual appliances containers and automationsPerform all maintenance required to keep systems running at peak performance including but not limited to log management snapshot management system growth rates cleaning of unused files and objectsDesign build and maintain serverrelated automations preexisting and goforward Including but not limited to configuration build access management and decommissionHandle all internal CA Authority management of certificates and externally facing certificates Work with applications teams to deploy certificates effectively and responsibly based on usecase Own entire certificate process end to endVMWare VSphereExperience or significant exposure to any of the following technologiesVMWare VSphere and its features vMotion HA DRS etcESXi deploymentsVM creation templates snapshots and VM backupAdminister and support VMware platformMaintain appropriate documentation on virtualizationProvide a point of escalation and support to the Service Desk TeamProvide 247 oncall support for the environmentParticipate in weekend maintenance activities as requiredPerform routine system administration dutiesMonitor ESXi servers and troubleshoot problemsProduce appropriate documentation for application deployment configuration and related processesResponsible for the operations and upkeep of the private and shared virtualized environmentsWork closely with other virtualization engineers on new implementations as well as maintaining the current environmentsAct as a technical escalation point within Central Operations for virtualization specific issuesResponsible for implementing and supporting process and systems are in place to deliver highly available virtualization platformsCreates documentation for cuSkillsWindows-Administration (Advanced)
