WHY BOX NEEDS YOUThe Strategic Finance team serves as critical business partners, providing strategic and data-driven insights to inform, drive, and support key decisions across all functions. We are deeply involved in forecasting financial performance and managing key business drivers that support the execution of long-term goals. Our team creates detailed analyses across every level of the company, such as corporate-level financial modeling down to specific areas such as pricing, sales capacity, headcount planning, and cost optimization. This comprehensive approach allows us to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and cost savings, ensuring that our financial strategies align with the company's overarching objectives.

We are a team of technology finance professionals with diverse backgrounds in finance, banking, consulting, and engineering that bring a wealth of perspectives to the table. By engaging deeply in strategic analysis and maintaining robust communication with executives, the Board, and shareholders, we play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of the company.

WHAT YOU'LL DOThe position provides valuable learning opportunities, engagement in key decision-making processes, exposure to Box's leadership team, and the opportunity to lead strategic projects. Your contributions will directly influence Box's profitability and scalability. There will be a direct connection between your activities and the company's success.
  • Build and own detailed financial models that accurately predict our revenue, expenses and cash flows
  • Create new models and views to help Box manage increasingly complex situations such as foreign exchange and tax-related impacts to our financial profile
  • Contribute to key Board reporting, including quarterly results and long-term strategic financial discussions
  • Manage the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual rhythms related to our financial forecast and plan cycles as part of being a publicly traded company
  • Analyze and distill data to create key insights and reports for internal stakeholders, including key business metrics and performance indicators
  • Own the planning tool used by the Strategic Finance team and develop a long-term road map for enhancements to our planning tools and processes

WHO YOU ARE
  • You have 3+ years of experience with time spent in investment banking, consulting, or finance within a top technology company
  • You have very strong analytical and financial modeling skills with meticulous attention to detail and a proficient understanding of financial statements.
  • You are adept with large amounts of business data in Excel and can extract meaningful business insights and conclusions
  • You produce high-quality work with a comprehensive understanding to confidently address questions from stakeholders
  • You are a proactive self-starter that can work independently, prioritize multiple work streams and are comfortable in a fast-paced work environment where your role will impact colleagues in the United States, Europe, and Japan
  • You are a responsive and poised communicator that upholds yourself to deadlines and commitments to stakeholders
  • You are comfortable contributing to projects end-to-end, from initiation and planning through to closure
  • Prior experience with financial planning tools (Planful, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, etc.) and SQL are big pluses
