Position OverviewWe're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead the day-to-day financial needs for Momentum Ventures and two of its operating subsidiaries, Flygreen and CruiseHub. The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage daily accounting operations, create reporting packages, coordinate, and provide information for tax providers, and assist with other financial activities as needed. Our ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, resilient, passionate, and who thrives in a startup environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of GST/HST and QST, including preparation, filing, and compliance;
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the entities;
  • Collaborate with tax professionals in the preparation of filings for holding companies, individuals, and trusts;
  • Manage cash flow, including cash forecasts, and monitor working capital;
  • Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies;
  • Coordinate with external financial entities, including banks, auditors, and tax authorities;
  • Assist with and oversee execution and reporting of payroll, payments, and invoices;
  • Forecast and plan for future financial needs;
  • Collaborate with executive management and stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements
  • Proven accounting experience and expertise managing a general ledger, minimum 3 years experience;
  • CPA or equivalent certification an asset;
  • Experience with QBO and Microsoft Office Suite is an asset;
  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high-level of accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through;
  • Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities;
  • Ability to make quick decisions and provide out of the box solutions when needed;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
