Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement and Corporate Services, the Head of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management is a Senior Manager level position and will be an integral part of the Procurement and Corporate Services senior management team. This individual will play a key role in the corporate real estate strategy daily operation of Aviva Canada's Corporate Services division, with ultimate accountability for the leasing and operations of the office footprint across Canada.
This role will implement strategies to increase efficiencies, lead operational excellence, instill a customer service focus, and maintain financial accountability for the portfolio while coaching and mentoring staff in the areas of property management, operations, administration, maintenance in-suite projects, and leasing.

This role will implement strategies to increase efficiencies, lead operational excellence, instill a customer service focus, and maintain financial accountability for the portfolio while coaching and mentoring staff in the areas of property management, operations, administration, maintenance in-suite projects, and leasing.
What you'll do:
- Develop and drive all aspects of Aviva Canada's Corporate Property and Real Estate strategies and business plans
- Accountable for the financial oversight, success and operational performance of the property and real estate portfolio.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to a team of over 10 staff members and foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork that is focused on delivering best-in-class standards of customer service;
- Development and Management of Operational Reporting to Executive Leadership on a monthly, quarterly, as needed basis;
- Deliver focused performance management to ensure continued professional development for all team members;
- Work closely with the VP of Procurement and Corporate Services and Executive Committee to develop and implement the national real estate and properties strategy
- Review and identify overall strategy and responsible for the implementation of new technologies required for request management, hoteling and occupancy and space management;
- Develop and implement standard operating policies and procedures that are scalable and will ensure efficient operations within a high-growth environment;
- Develop and implement strategies for preserving revenues and reducing operating expenses and risk to achieve financial objectives;
- Work hand in hand with Procurement counterparts to negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and consultants;
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
What you'll bring:
- University Business Degree or College equivalent
- A demonstrated ability (10-15 years) in the property management with a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role
- A proven record of accomplishment of success improving revenues and minimizing expenses
- Outstanding knowledge of leasing, building operations, capital improvement and maintenance.
- Superior knowledge of all relevant local, provincial, and federal legislation/regulations are necessary for the position.
