Job Description
Responsible for advancing the company's market position and enhancing brand equity within a targeted industry segment, the Market Segment Manager will lead all related business development efforts as part of the broader growth strategy of their sales channel. As our expert in the assigned sector, the Market Segment Manager will establish themselves as Bestbath's visible leader within the market segment and nurture a network of relationships that develops positive brand awareness and builds our own understanding for identifying new industry-specific solutions and business opportunities. This role will require active participation and engagement with key trade associations, including serving on committees, public speaking, education, and other contributions that help to enhance Bestbath's value as a partner to the industry and increase our competency as aligned professionals. The role will also require a high level of engagement with sales and marketing leadership to develop and execute strategies and with regional sales teams to sell and transition opportunities into the company. This is an individual contributor position that is focused on unlocking potential growth and developing value for our products in the assigned segment(s), with expectations focused on the generation of new business opportunities that will be measured through success in brand development and growth in downstream sales success.

$80,000-$100,000 DOE + Incentive Plan

Responsibilities and Duties
Brandon Development (35%)
- Brand Awareness - Development and management of the components of our marketing and communications strategy to build visibility of our brand name in the target segment.
- Brand Positioning - In collaboration with the marketing team, focus on developing and updating the unique differentiations between us and our competitors.
- Brand Equity - In collaboration with sales, marketing, and customer service, manage our understanding of how customers experience our company and products, and how to improve it.
- Brand Value - Identifies and connects existing UPSs our product provides to the segment for messaging and uses industry engagement to uncover potential UPSs for product development
Team Selling (35%)
- Lead Development - Manages early business opportunities in the CRM, before initiating a formal handoff to the regional sales manager and/or inside sales representative for qualified leads.
- Sales Support - As requested or directed by the Channel Sales Manager, participate in sales efforts such as video calls, site meetings, or customer visits to support or close key deals.
- Segment Leadership - As the SME of the targeted segment, act as a corporate resource to other functions who may need to leverage your knowledge or relationships to execute a task or project.
Strategy Development and Management (15%)
- Strategy Development - Lend expertise and analysis of customers and market trends in channel management's development and directing strategy. Implement and execute plans to enhance the company's presence and market share within the targeted segment through measurable, progressive actions and tasks.
- Strategy Management - Continued analysis and assessment of strategic tasks and objectives, including collaboration with sales and marketing leaders to manage follow through.
- Industry Engagement - Establishes and maintains active, engaged presence in target segments, building and reinforcing relationships, collaborative partnerships, and overall brand awareness.
Sales Analytics and Reporting (15%)
- CRM Reporting - Maintains and reports high level metrics related to target segment as assigned by the channel sales manager.
- CRM Tracking - Creates and manages all prospecting activities, networking, and lead assignment and handoffs using CRM work flows as instructed by sales manager or standard to the channel.
- Segment Analytics - Uses CRM and ERP to assess progress to segment targets and to populate key data points for forecasting methods in conjunction with the channel sales manager.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years in a business development or sales role, participating in strategic growth activities.
- Minimum of two (2) years business development or sales with a proven track record of success in the assigned market segment or a closely aligned industry.
- Existing, reliable professional network in the target market or a closely aligned segment.
- Strong prospecting skills, including comfort with cold networking and in-person cold engagement.
- Detail oriented with high level of organizational skills, including ability to develop, lead, and perform tasks necessary to execute multiple projects and objectives on an ongoing basis.
- Experience in CRM software and commitment to real-time use and maintenance of updated data.
- Computer experience required: Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, PowerPoint, Teams
- Good verbal and written communication, including strong public speaking and presentations skills.
- Ability and nature to remain calm and focused on results in stressful settings or situations.
- High level of competency and independence in managing a complex travel schedule.
- Intermediate math and calendar skills.
- Read, speak, and write English completely with proper grammar.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This is a fully remote position, however, will require travel to both Caldwell, ID and Sparta, TN offices periodically for team meetings or individual work.
- Work is performed primarily in a home office or company office environment with moderate noise level. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Position requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
- Constantly requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours and ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively.
