Position Overview:
Are you ready totake on a dynamic and impactful role? As a Project Procurement Professional,you will be at the heart of our critical infrastructure projects, drivinginnovation and excellence. This role involves leading procurement efforts,planning, executing, controlling, and closing out activities for assignedprojects with precision and passion.
You will steercomplex projects to success, ensuring they meet the highest standards ofquality, time, and cost. By developing a resilient Supply Base, you willachieve the Best Total Cost of Ownership for our business, ensuring world-classservice for our CS customers.
In this excitingrole, you will collaborate closely with Engineering to reverse engineer andsource essential parts, working on innovative solutions. Your collaborationwill extend to colleagues in sales, operations, finance, and procurement peers,both locally and globally.

The base salary range for this position in California is $79,400-$107,200. The actual salary/wage offered may be loweror higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, andqualifications.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Integrate Procurement in the project management process(PM[redacted]) and organizes, controls, and monitors all Procurement activitiesin a project.
- Led and delivery second sourcing solution, in conjunctionwith your Engineering partners.
- Review and monitor the sales pipeline. Meet withcross-functional partners and participate in project/sales meetings to provideprocurement market information at an early stage, optimizing supplierselection. Participate in project/sales meetings as project core team member toexert a shaping influence at an early stage.
- Establishing material budgets and monitoring costs throughproject execution phase.
- Analyze customer inquiries during bid preparation /opportunity management phases and exactly understands the customer's functionalneeds in order to include (supplier) innovations.
- Manage the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) in US-CS for ourcustomer specific Categories.
- Ultimate ownership over supplier management in commercialissues, supplier qualification, development, and overall relationshipmanagement for customer specific Categories.
- Clearly define the supply chain. Creating and maintainingproject procurement plans, assuring superior supply chain execution throughoutthe entire project, documenting and communicating the supply chain strategy tocross-functional project teams.
- Complete Category Road Maps, providing long termstrategies, for strategic customer specific Commodities.
- Negotiate Master Procurement Agreements, including pricing,terms & conditions, payment terms in alignment with the wider Siemenscommunity for customer specific Categories.
- Develop new suppliers to support uncommon / nonstandardproject needs. Target the geographic areas close to our customers and thetrains that we are supporting.
- Understanding the scope of supply and customer contractagreements, performing risk analysis and preparing for negotiations withsuppliers and identifying supply chain risks and monitoring the supply chainduring project execution to avoid potential issues/risks.
- Analyze project scope of supply, contractual obligationsand end customer's functional needs. Identify particular procurement risks,opportunities, potential changes, claims and market forces during the entireproject, together with Commodity Management, to avoid potential damage and toexploit savings potential.
- Ensure that mitigation of procurement risks, changes tooriginal scope of supply and potential claims (towards customers and suppliers)are covered in valid contracts with suppliers. Ensure that required customercontractual obligations are fulfilled by supplier and covered in a way thatmitigates Siemens' risk exposure.
- Clarify internal indicators for project controlling andcompile all relevant information to submit qualified reports. Proactivelyensure resources availability, status, transparency and alerting of deviations.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor'sdegree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or Engineering
- Minimumof 3 years of Supply Chain & Project experience
- Stronganalytical and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with both internaland external stakeholders
- Experiencein project scheduling
- Demonstratedbroad supply chain knowledge
- Fluencyin German
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Suite
- Demonstratedsolid communication and listening skills
- Dedication& excitement about joining a fast moving & growing business.
- Abilityto travel 10-25%
- Settingyou apart from others would be a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering withPM[redacted] knowledge and experience. Experiencewith SAP would be a plus.
