Description
The Controller will actively support senior management with reporting and financial accounting, as well as provide ongoing guidance and direction to the Accounting team.

Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business/Management with a focus in Accounting
Professional designation
CPA or CPA Path preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Proficiency in the use of computers:
Experience
Proven experience as an accountant
Working toward a professional designation is a plus but not required

Description
The Controller will actively support senior management with reporting and financial accounting, as well as provide ongoing guidance and direction to the Accounting team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate financial metrics to senior management
- Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans
- Monitor the financial performance of the company
- Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
- Responsible for review and approval of Accounts Payable packets
- Perform variance analysis on Actual vs. Estimated Revenues
- Oversee the annual 1099 process
- Perform Credit Card Statement Reconciliations and postings
- Remit Sales and Use tax
- Perform Expense variance analysis
- Manage all Balance Sheet schedules, including the depreciation and prepaid expense schedules
- Work with audits as well as monthly, quarterly, and yearly close
- Perform Payroll vs. Billing variance analysis
- Collaborate with the other department managers to support overall goals and objectives
- Lead annual budgeting process
- Manage a small team of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business/Management with a focus in Accounting
Professional designation
CPA or CPA Path preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in the use of computers:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required
- QuickBooks Enterprise experience is a plus
- QuickBase experience is a plus
- Concur experience is a plus
