Job Purpose: The Production Control and Materials Planner will coordinate production aspects of the manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure optimal utilization of resources, timely delivery of products, and adherence to quality standards. Duties include reviewing, distributing, and maintaining engineering drawing packets and production work in adherence to the production schedule. This position works closely within the Materials Team and with other BETA departments. The Production Control and Materials Planner requires a high focus on end user needs with a great emphasis on details and customer fulfillment. Work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm with occasional overtime required and occasional Saturday. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Communicate between internal and external organizations to optimize inventory use and production planning / controlling workflowsExamine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specificationsEnsure all material assigned to work orders is correct.Work closely with Accounting, Purchasing and Engineering departments related to parts consumption and needs.Provide daily material pick lists to the Materials TeamCreate work orders in ERP system (Jobscope) to include long lead, medium lead, complete BOM's (Bill of Material), and standard products and expedites; issue materials daily according to work orders or identified inventory accountsKeep drawing folders and Jobscope production BOM's up to date for engineering changesProcess Engineering Change NoticesCreate reliability folder with control plans and parts listsCreate and maintain revisions on parts listsAdd jobs to BETA's timekeeping system Maintain material short report and alert Materials lead and operations of potential shortagesMaintain ASME vessel logbook, stamp drawings etc.Maintain electrical/fuel/hydraulic schematic logbook and drawing revisionsTrack root cause of shortages and work with the team to implement solutionsWork closely with Materials Handlers to stage and move materials when neededOther duties as assigned to support all functions of Materials Team RequirementsEducation and Experience Required:High School DiplomaHigher level course study preferredAt least 2 years experience production and material planning helpful, preferably in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience with ERP system (JobScope preferred), engineering drawings, and printsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Forklift license, will train Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)Physical Requirements - using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independentlyBETA offers paid time off, 10 paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
