We are seeking a motivated team lead to setup the data infrastructure in the WD media development organization. The ideal candidate has experience in software design, implementation, and real-time data processing. Together with engineers they will analyze complex manufacturing and scientific devices, devise a data collection and storage strategy, followed by implementation. The data will be used for data analytics and visualization to support hard disk drive (HDD) media development for next generation product technologies, including heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR).Key Responsibilities:Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Work with a team to develop and deploy programs to collect data from IOT devices, such as manufacturing and scientific tools used for media development.Ensure high reliability of the processes, data integrity and accuracy by implementing robust data validation and quality assurance practices.Transfer software to other sites in Asia.Add new features, perform maintenance tasks.Consult with engineers in the media organization to understand their data needs.Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality and best practices.Report progress to senior management.Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.5 or more years experience in software design and implementation.Strong proficiency in coding in various forms, such as Python, C++, Java, SQL, etc.Experience in Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Enjoy working on highly complex projects involving engineers from many different teams.Additional Information

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in those states.
