Job OverviewAs a Danforth Consultant, you will be deployed as a Staff Accountant for early-stage life science companies, including venture backed, near public, and publicly traded entities. Typically, consultants balance the demands of a few clients at a time, with the combined hours equating to a full-time position. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high growth, dynamic players in the biotech, medical device and health IT sectors. You will work either independently with the client or with a team of Danforth professionals on engagements.Potential ResponsibilitiesThe Consultant will provide accounting services, including, but not limited to:Review, analyze, and process General Accounting transactionsProactively identify and problem-solve accounting issues. Make recommendations for resolutionsPrepare, record and post journal entriesOversee purchasing and accounts payable files including processing invoices, handling vendor payments and inquiries, and preparing related correspondenceManage monthly close processAdminister payrollContribute to audit preparationParticipate in other projects as deemed necessary by the clientWork closely with all levels of staff and vendors within the client organizationMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting2+ years accounting and finance experience (Big 4/CPA Firm experience a plus)Computer Skills: QuickBooks and Excel a must; Intacct, NetSuite, Great Plains, Equity Edge a plusIFRS experience a plusExperience in Life Sciences industryDemonstrated ability to work in an early stage start-up environmentCreative problem-solving skills including the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutionsStrong interpersonal and client relationship skillsExperience working as a consultant a plus, or a sincere interest and commitment to consultingBenefitsCompetitive PayFlexible hours (Part-time and Full-time)Ability to work remoteHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)About Danforth AdvisorsDanforth is the life science industry’s trusted partner for strategic and operational support across corporate, clinical, and commercial functions.
