The ideal candidate will partner with internal clients, Director of HR and the HRBP team in the creation, implementation and ongoing execution of key talent programs, processes and activities including feedback, performance management, career development, succession planning, and inclusion and diversity across our Asset Management client groups. They will also partner with the Director of HR on strategy development, thought leadership and client management. The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will provide internal Human Resources consulting to client departments to facilitate conflict resolution, employee relations matters, and support successful change management. They will maintain a close working relationship with managers to ensure employee capabilities are aligned with departmental goals/requirements and mentor/coach the managers on managerial effectiveness. They will counsel employees on career progression and development. The successful candidate will be a relationship builder and people motivator.Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Partners with internal clients and the HRBP team in the creation, implementation and ongoing execution of key talent programs and activities including feedback and performance management, career development, succession planning, and inclusion and diversity strategies.Partners with the Director of HR on strategy development.Provides internal HR consulting to departments to facilitate conflict resolution, employee relations matters, and change management.Maintains close working relationships with managers to ensure employee capabilities are aligned with departmental goals/requirements. Mentors and coaches managers on managerial effectiveness.Counsels employees on career progression and development.Ensures compliance with all HR-related federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Researches best practices in policies, programs, competitive intelligence, and handles other ad hoc requests.Assists with policy development and updates.Supports business colleagues with routine HR questions, needs, and inquiries.Partners effectively with International HR Business Partner team to ensure coordination and best practice sharing across client groups.Participates in advancing the overall William Blair Human Resources team effectiveness, team engagement, and development.Additional responsibilities as requested.Qualifications:7+ years of experience in Human Resources, primarily in an HR generalist/business partner capacity, with 3+ being in financial services or professional services strongly preferredCurrent knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practicesDemonstrated experience developing and supporting inclusion and diversity strategies with client groups.Excellent interpersonal skills and service orientationSkilled at quickly building trusting and collaborative relationships at all levels of the organizationWell-developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skillsPossesses a rational, confident and balanced approach to decision makingStrong influence skills, including outcome and expectations managementHigh attention to detail and follow-upDemonstrates ownership and accountabilityProven ability to simultaneously and effectively manage multiple projects, priorities and meet deadlinesPossesses strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and ExcelHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
