Patent Agent/Tech Advisor

Job Overview:A prominent law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Patent Agent/Tech Advisor with industry experience and strong engineering background to join its patent counseling and prosecution practice.Duties:Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.Analyze patent and scientific documents to assist in patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation.Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.Requirements:Minimum 1 year of law firm experience.Substantive industry experience in related fields.Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.Education:Degree in material, chemical, mechanical, or biomedical engineering (or a related field).Certifications:Must be a registered US patent agent or eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam.Job Location:Chicago, ILSkills:Broad scientific knowledge in mechanical and/or biomedical engineering.Initiative and ability to learn quickly.Strong teamwork capabilities.
