QualiTech is growing, and we are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Kankakee IL.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for constructing, repairing, installation and remove various machines, equipment, and conduit, both metal and PVC, with respect to quality, good sanitation practices and safety in an efficient manner. Main responsibilities include trouble shooting, installation, repair of all electrical equipment, and instrumentation. PLC background is a plus. Must be qualified to work on 480 volt/3 phase electrical applications. The Maintenance Technician must be willing to work overtime and respond to call-in work.

This is a full time, benefit eligible position - Hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reads and interprets drawings and layouts.

Sets up and operates the equipment necessary to perform all functions of the craft.

Installs, maintains, replaces, moves or removes equipment, machines and piping or any other production or maintenance devices.

Installs and maintains insulation on equipment, piping, ducts and spouting.

Makes repairs to and checks machines and equipment for correct operation.

Performs all operations necessary for the construction, installation and repair of equipment and devices designated.

Maintains shop cleanliness.

Does necessary carpenter work.

Performs the lining of conveyors.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area and removes material and equipment from job site.

Rebuild, repair, replace damaged, defective, or worn parts.

Troubleshoot, locate, identify, or diagnose electrical malfunction.

Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems or components.

Test electrical circuits, components or systems.

Test electrical system for faulty connections.

Testing, maintaining, and modifying facility's control systems

Installs, programs, and maintains:

Instrumentation equipment

Programmable Logic Controllers

Sensors

Analyzing and interpreting data

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High school diploma or general education degree and five or more years industrial maintenance or equivalent experience

Two-year technical training degree desired

Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship program and/or 8 years of equivalent electrical maintenance experience

Knowledge of maintenance and asset management software (FIIX, MP2 etc.)

Experience in FDA regulated manufacturing environment.

Forklift certification preferred.

Proficient use of hand and power tools, pipe threading, TIG welding

Electrical experience with AC/DC high and low voltages

Read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, specifications, procedure manuals and instructions.

Work Environment:

Exposure to noise, heat, excessive changes in temperature and humidity, and airborne dust particles.

Safety Equipment:

Bump caps, hearing protection, hair net, beard net (if applicable), uniforms, safety glasses, gloves, and safety boots.
