Typical Duties
The School of Social Work is seeking program coordinators to support the facilitation of field education, the central pedagogy of preparing BSW and MSW students for professional practice.Key duties of this role include developing and maintaining field education sites, assigning and reassigning students to field placements, assisting with field education course prep, planning and implementing field education events and meetings for field students, instructors, and liaisons.
Qualifications
Preferred QualificationsMSW degree from a CSWE accredited universityTwo years post-MSW practice experienceExposure to social work education curriculum and/or the mission, values, and fields of social work practiceCollege level teaching experienceFamiliarity with state, local and community-based social service organizationsMinimum Qualifications
Masters degree in social work, counseling, or related fieldExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent organization skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle large volume of communication with students and community partnersAbility to handle large volume of data from students and community partnersAbility to use independent judgment, initiative and decision making in daily tasksDemonstrated leadership in establishing and sustaining community and academic collaborationsEase in working with technology, databases and online teaching platformsDemonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and studentenvironment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
