William Vaughan Company is helping in the search for a Controller for a General Contractor based in Holland, OH. They are seeking a skilled individual to join their team. As the Controller, you will be supporting in various capacities as it relates to budgeting, financial reporting and clean accounting practices. This person must be sufficient in various technology platforms and be comfortable taking on new challenges in the construction industry. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.Ensure compliance with all accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations.Collaborate with project managers to forecast project costs and revenue.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Manage audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Accounting Operations:

Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.Manage payroll processing and related accounting activities.Reconcile bank accounts and financial statements.

Financial Analysis:

Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.Support strategic decision-making with detailed financial analysis and reporting.

Supervise and mentor the accounting and finance team.Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and Payroll.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced Excel skills are necessary.Sage 300 CRE/Timberline accounting software experience preferred, not required.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Benefits & Perks:Position will offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience.Comprehensive benefits package available!
