About the Role:
As a Pathologist, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team by examining tissues, bodily fluids, and organs to diagnose diseases. Your expertise will be essential in providing critical information for patient care, treatment planning, and research.
Responsibilities:
Analyze tissue specimens (biopsies and surgical resections) using microscopy and advanced laboratory techniques.Perform autopsies to determine the cause of death.Conduct a comprehensive range of tests on blood, body fluids, and other specimens to identify abnormalities.Collaborate with physicians in various specialties to ensure accurate diagnosis and develop effective treatment plans for patients.Communicate pathology findings clearly and concisely in written reports.Stay current with the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques and pathology research.Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the pathology department.May participate in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students (depending on the role).Qualifications:
M.D. degree (Doctor of Medicine) from an accredited medical school.Board certification in Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) or eligibility to obtain certification.Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in anatomic and/or clinical pathology (depending on the role and area of specialization).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).Additional Skills (desirable):
Fellowship training in a specific area of pathology (e.g., Anatomic Pathology, Neuropathology, etc.).Experience with digital pathology tools.Research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
