Position Summary

UNMNeurology

seeks twoNeurologist positions to join our

Neurology/NeuroCritical Care team . Thepositions will be part of a team of faculty providing quality patient care inthe inpatient and outpatient setting at UNM Hospital. Clinical responsibilities includecoverage/call on Neurology ICU and inpatient services. Academic responsibilities includeparticipation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Research responsibilities includeparticipating in grants and clinical trials in the department.

UNMHospital is the tertiary care center for the State and the only ComprehensiveStroke Center, NAEC level 4 epilepsy center, and ALS / MDA center in the State. The

UNM Neurology Department

has 45 full-time and part-time attendingphysicians and is home to well-established Residency and multiple Fellowshipprograms.

About Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque,NM is a beautiful city with Sandia Mountains to the east and mesa to the west. At more than a mile-high elevation, this highdesert environment provides beautiful sunny days but also the variety of allfour seasons. It is ideal for outdooractivities and sports all year-round including running, hiking, biking andskiing. Albuquerque is 1 hour from SantaFe, NM and 2.5 hours from Taos, NM, both world famous for their art andculture. The State of New Mexico ismulticultural and diverse with 19 indigenous native pueblos, Navajo reservationand three Apache tribal lands. We haveexcellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, numerous cultural and historicsites, lakes, rivers, deserts, and mountains.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

MD degree or equivalentBoard eligible or certified in Neurology.Board eligible or certified in neurocritical care or established neurocritical fellowship training, completed by start date.Must be eligible to work in the United States.PreferredRequirements:

2-3 years of clinical experience in neurological care.A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
