Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in the financial management of our manufacturing operations in Bedford Park, IL. This position demands a hands-on leader with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of accounting principles, particularly in managing the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and Senior Leadership, overseeing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, and driving process improvements. A CPA designation is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the AP and AR teams, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.Month-End Close:

Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded and deadlines are met.Financial Statement Preparation:

Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.Collaboration:

Work closely with the Controller and Senior Leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.Accounts Payable Management:

Supervise the AP process, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing and maintaining strong vendor relationships.Accounts Receivable Management:

Oversee the AR process, ensuring timely invoicing, effective collections, and accurate revenue recording.Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall financial operations.Internal Controls:

Maintain and strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Audit Support:

Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits, addressing any findings promptly.Special Projects:

Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by the Controller or Senior Leadership.Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Certification:

CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing CPA certification will be considered.Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Skills:Current, recent manufacturing industry experience highly preferred, preferably in a multi - site organization.Proven leadership and team management abilities.Strong hands-on approach to financial management and problem-solving.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Benefits:
