OverviewThe purpose of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) is to support the faculty and scholars (undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellow/associates) of Rutgers -New Brunswick in advancing their preeminence in research and scholarship through fostering innovations, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engaged scholarship. The OVPR serves as a strategic partner in New Brunswick advocating for resources, developing communication/opportunities, and supporting seed funding initiatives, to promote an inclusive culture for research and scholarship. The Office also provides advice and planning for university-wide research initiatives and priorities including its Centers and Institutes, supporting New Brunswick and its cross-campus and Chancellor-led units' research infrastructure development, working closely with the central University Office for Research and Office of Institutional Research and Academic Planning.

This position is a 100% appointment and reports to the Director for Research Development & Strategy with a dotted line to the Program Development Specialist.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Handles operations and administration, event planning, calendar, project coordination, research development, and special projects for the OVPR.Facilitates NB strategic priorities as it pertains, but not limited to, faculty, students, and postdoctoral associates' research and professional advancement.Builds intellectual communities.

Work ArrangementConsistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and staff.Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in program coordination, event planning a plus.Experience in research administration and/or research development or an interest to learn.
Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to pick up 10-15 pounds of event materials/supplies.Ability to climb stairs.Required to travel to on-site and off-site events using own vehicle.
