INTRODUCTION

You have experience managing extensive project & investment portfolios to industrialize new products in our factories; You are comfortable dealing with financials business cases; You have broad & deep experience building business cases based on industrial investigations & leading industrial projects; You are highly enthusiastic about networking throughout the Volvo Group NA value chain and various Business Divisions. Business Office (BO) North America is a team of experienced leaders engaged in diverse projects & industrial investigations to support the transformation of the company to be a leader in Sustainable transportation. This includes but not limited to leading complex, cross -functional Industrial Investigations, ensuring our industrial strategy is aligned with the global product strategy, collaborating with our Cab & Vehicle Assembly (CVA) plants on the Factory Master Plans & Investments & driving NA trade compliance for Volvo Grp in NA. We lead and collaborate with teams and functions throughout the entire value chain for the Group – technology, operations, supply chain, sales, and digital & IT. BO is structured within the NA Manufacturing Engineering Organization under Global Truck Operations (GTO) division.

This position can be based in Volvo Group North American HQ in Greensboro, NC and position will report directly to the Director of Business Office Conventional Range.

ROLE DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Industrial Project Manager for North America, you have the primary responsibility to lead complex, strategic industrial investigations & validate Financial Investment requests (FIR’s) for CVA facilities

You will also have responsibility to:

o Validate & support the Financial Investment Requests (FIR) for NA CVA plants in preparation for escalation to executive mgt. & ensure the FlR's are aligned with Master Plans

o Lead budgetary oversight for significant industrial projects at GTO NA plants

o Develop and monitor spending plan for NA CVA plants ensuring balanced spending, adherence to forecast, and staying within cap

o In collaboration with X-functional stakeholders, lead major, strategic Industrial investigations impacting multiple CVA plants in terms of make/buy, investment decisions & depth of engagement

o Lead cross functional industrial investigations & projects to ensure NA Industrial capacity meets Long Term Volume Forecasts (LTVF) & brand targets for market share

o Prepare and present regular status updates to Steering Committees and GTX forums on Industrial Investigations, CAPEX, Investment forecasts, etc.

o As a part of BO for Conventional Range, you will collaborate with other investigation leaders to support the plant Master Plan process

o Support BO activities related to identifying public funding opportunities for planned industrial investments

o Support NA BO with the VPS journey and help the continuous improvement process

Who are you?

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

o Bachelor’s degree in business, International Business or Engineering and/or 7-10 years practical and related business experience (MBA preferred)

o 3-5 years Project Management experience (PMP preferred)

o 3-5 years’ experience managing cross functional working team

o Strong leadership skills & ability to work autonomously

o Ability to travel as required (up to 30% of the time)

o Knowledge and experience strategic planning, Operations & Volvo Production System (VPS) preferred

o Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and written and verbal communication skills

o Demonstrated experience in risk and change management
