The
Operational Excellence Champion
plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and enhancing overall business performance.This person is responsible for identifying areas of opportunity and driving improvement strategy and initiatives.This role will work with cross-functional teams to optimize operational processes and drive continuous improvement.
The job responsibilities of this position require the employee to be onsite at our Franklin, MA facility. No hybrid or remote option is available.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
Analyze data and information to identify areas of opportunity and create appropriate KPIs to measure improvementIdentify gaps in targeted KPIs and develop strategies to address them or recommend actionsBe the company subject matter expert for all Continuous Improvement topics, including but not limited to; Lean manufacturing, Operational Excellence methodologies, 6S, Six Sigma, SPC, Kaizens, Gemba walks, Value Stream Mapping, standard work, Heijunka, etc.Monitor and track KPIs to measure effectiveness of OpEx initiativesPrepare and present reports and recommendationsLead Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping eventsImplement and maintain 6S and visual managementHelp create the future state as it relates to manufacturing strategies, cross-functional processes, and establishment/improvement of process documentationAs the SME, provide training in operational excellence principles as needed and champion continuous learningAs a change agent, plan and execute Rapid Improvement Events or Just Do Its to eliminate waste from processes and improve productivityResponsible for managing the Operational Excellence funnel, project execution, presentation completion, and reportingTrack and champion operational cost savings - Initiate cost savings improvement projectsEducational and Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field; significant applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeLean Six Sigma certification5+ years of proven experience driving operational excellence and process improvement initiativesDemonstrated skillset in leading cross functional projectsACE Tools (Relentless Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing)US Military Service considered a plus.Other Qualifications:
Must have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Microsoft Access Database, ERP, and/or Quality Management Software experience a plus.Possesses strong organizational skillsEffective communication and presentation skillsMust have basic math and writing skills, ability to communicate technical information through written form and supporting data.Must have the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of technical informationMust have technical problem-solving skills - ability to break down large problems into smaller parts to deliver the end solutions.Fluency in English, written and verbal
