Job Description Supervises and leads the activities of Gas First Response. Provides leadership and expertise in addressing field emergencies, compliance work and work on customer premises. Works closely with other PSE departments, as well as other customer service and support departments to resolve issues directly with customers when needed. Responsible for gas safety compliance work and compliance with PSE's Gas Operating Standards and Gas Field Procedures when engaged in operating, maintaining, constructing or engineering PSE's natural gas system. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations. Job Responsibilities Employee Safety, Development & Team Building - Providing employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams: Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings. Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed. Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards. Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews. Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results. Monitors workload, accuracy, productivity and staffing levels to ensure operational efficiencies and departmental goals are met. Provides training and testing to meet on-going training requirements. Ensures departmental work is performed in accordance with PSE's standards, procedures, state and federal regulations. Evaluates staffing resources to ensure operational efficiencies including shifts and staffing levels. Develops system enhancements and refines procedures. Involved in process improvement initiatives and drives towards applicable solutions. Responsible for protecting the general public by timely emergency and leak response. Responsible for all appliance work and inside leak detection in a given area. Assists in the development of gas related standards, procedures and policies. Works with standards and compliance to provide input on the development and review of associated documentation. Provides support and expertise during WUTC (Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission) audits. Works closely with various internal departments, as well as customer service and support departments to resolve issues directly with customers when needed. Investigates and resolves customer issues/complaints with customer service groups and gas operations management.
