This role offers an outstanding opportunity to coordinate the planning, supervision, organization, and management of our Water Treatment Plants, ensuring detailed operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate Treatment Plant Leads: Coordinate and mentor the treatment plant leads to ensure efficient performance and adherence to protocols.

Lead Project Team: Recommend hires and develop team performance

Prepare Annual Budget and Reports: Develop the treatment plant's annual budget and comprehensive reports, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Standard Operating Guidelines: Prepare and update standard operating guidelines to maintain high standards of operation.

Coordinate Safety Requirements: Ensure the implementation of safety protocols and work rules to establish a safe working environment.

Customer Concerns: Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, either orally or in writing.

Short- and Long-Term Planning: Direct both immediate and future planning for the Water/Wastewater Treatment Division.

Operational Responsibility: Coordinate the operation and maintenance of an activated sludge, secondary treatment, or sewage treatment facility.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor plant operations to ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Inspection and Reporting: Conduct frequent inspections of plant operations and verify the accuracy of reports submitted to regulatory agencies.

Maintenance Oversight: Ensure preventive maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, piping, and machinery are carried out on schedule.

Coordinate Contract: Coordinate maintenance contracts and collaborate with consultants to prepare modifications or specifications for plant improvements.

Laboratory Quality Control: Monitor laboratory quality control to meet operational and accreditation standards.

Chemical Orders: Lead the procurement of chemicals for plant operations.

Board and City Council Meetings: Attend meetings as requested to provide updates and insights on plant operations.

Qualifications

Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge of engineering theory, procedures, and practices related to the design and construction of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants.

SCADA Systems: Proficient in Self-Contained Automated Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems.

Driver’s License: Must possess a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.

Certification: Must be certified by the State Board of Examiners as a Certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class II.

Supervisory Skills: Proven experience in supervising, mentoring, and coaching employees.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hydraulics and the biological, chemical, and physical principles of wastewater treatment.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with current federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including reporting requirements.

Operational Standards: Knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and regulations used in wastewater treatment, biosolids handling, and disposal.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The Project Manager role requires frequent physical activity, including standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and the ability to lift over 50 pounds regularly. The position also demands normal visual acuity, hearing, and depth perception. This role involves exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
