WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek a meticulously organized, adaptable, enthusiastic, and results-oriented Assistant Controller to bolster our expanding Accounting division. This role entails spearheading our accounting operations within the United States.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Preparation of financial statements for Relm Insurance Solutions Ltd in accordance with GAAPHelp manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgerReconcile insurance premium receivables and payables to ensure accuracy and completenessPrepare, submit and maintain state surplus line tax filingsCalculate annual U.S. income taxes.Perform monthly and year-end close proceduresAssist in the development and monitoring of internal controlsPrepare and analyze financial reports for managementAssist in budgeting and forecasting processesEnsure compliance with accounting standards and regulationsCollaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide support as neededParticipate in audits and provide documentation as requestedStay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulationsCoordinate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilitiesConduct tax research and analysis to stay current with changes in tax laws and regulationsPrepare and maintain documentation for tax audits and inquiries from tax authoritiesCollaborate with underwriting and claims departments to analyze and report on insurance related financial metricsStay abreast of developments in insurance accounting standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsAssist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and filings for insurance regulatorsRequirements
BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with 2+ years in a supervisory position5+ years of experience working in Insurance is requiredStrong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirementsExperience with US tax filings and insurance regulatory requirementsProficiency in accounting software. Experience with MS Business Central is a plusExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in MS Office applications with advanced Excel knowledge.Benefits
