Fund Controller

The candidate should have strong accounting and finance background, knowledge of tax structures and tax reporting requirements, comprehensive understanding of GAAP accounting, fund accounting, fund analysis, cash management, and excellent attention to detail.This management role is responsible for managing the Company's series of credit funds, including books and records, tax analysis and reporting, and cash management. The candidate will serve as the main point of contact with external tax, audit and will liaise with fund administrators. Compensation will be competitive and will include a discretionary bonus based on performance.Main ResponsibilitiesOversee fund accounting operations, including financial statement preparation and investor reportingCollaborate with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reportingManage the company's cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investmentsDevelop and implement cash management strategies to optimize the company's financial positionLead and manage tax planning and compliance effortsPrepare and file accurate quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulationsLiaise with 3rd party tax advisors to develop and implement effective tax strategiesKeep abreast of changes in tax legislation that may affect the firm and its operations, and advise on necessary actionsProvide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilitiesCoordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audit processesEnsure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirementsContribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plansProvide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making at the executive levelRequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting
