Responsibilities

Update training content to match the current standards of practice for Emergency Medical Responders, as well as Medical Response Unit (MRU) Policies and Procedures, Standard Operating Guidelines, and other relevant UHS, state, and federal guidelines. Train student responders on weekly material and demonstrate necessary hands-on skills. Implement a weekly system to assess and track responder competency and make decisions regarding each member's continued membership based on their performance. Maintain thorough training documentation to track student-responder competency. Train and appropriately document student-responders in the proper operation of carts on FSU's main campus.Coordinate both field and clinical operations of the MRU across the campus. Supervise MRU crews and monitor operations during special events. Respond to all calls while on duty with the assigned crew. Ensure that responders are providing professional, appropriate care within their scope of practice and approved protocols. Monitor any radio transmission from responders for quality and accuracy. Act as the designated liaison between MRU, UHS, FSU PD, EMS, and other community resources when responding to calls. Debrief responders as necessary following each call. Ensure that MRU carts, vehicles, trailers, and equipment are in a safe and operable condition for use. Conduct and document monthly inspections of all MRU carts, vehicles, and trailers. Communicate any found issues or needed maintenance for MRU carts, vehicles, trailers, and equipment to the Program Manager and UHS Maintenance staff. Participate in UHS health and wellness outreach events as needed.Ensure optimal student-responder staffing during daily shifts and special events. Maintain a record of attendance for daily shifts and special events. Ensure that proper documentation is received for excused absences and that unexcused absence are addressed appropriately. May be required to fulfill any duties or responsibilities of the MRU Program Manager in the event the Program Manager is absent or upon request.Review and update, as needed, the content of MRU provided "Stop the Bleed" classes and "GreekSafe" presentations. Implement the process for selecting "Stop the Bleed" and "GreekSafe" student-instructors. Assist in providing CPR education & certification as needed for MRU student-responders and UHS staff.Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and three years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and seven years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to seven years.)State of Florida EMT or Paramedic LicenseA valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.Current EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications

Ability to utilize technical skills in the training, clinical and field supervision of First Responders.Knowledge of and ability to apply current principles, methods, and practices for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.Knowledge of available medical resources and terminology.Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of health, human services, and counseling programs.Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
