Dementia Clinic Clinician

Position Overview:

Professionals who specialize in enhancing cognitive functions, such as memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive functioning, in individuals through various techniques, interventions, and technologies. They work with patients to assess their cognitive abilities, develop personalized plans, and implement strategies to improve cognitive performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Assessment:

Conduct comprehensive cognitive assessments to evaluate patients’ strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Utilize standardized cognitive tests, questionnaires, and interviews to gather relevant information.

Personalized Planning:

Develop individualized cognitive enhancement plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. Consider factors such as age, cognitive profile, lifestyle, and existing challenges. Stay abreast of existing and evolving therapies and techniques to enhance cognitive function including photo biomodulation, supplements, hyperbaric, sound therapy, dietary changes, cognitive games and tools.

Intervention Implementation:

Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to enhance cognitive functions. This may include cognitive training exercises, behavioral interventions, lifestyle modifications, and technological tools. Develop novel and integrated methods to enhance and improve cognitive function to help both those with cognitive decline but those with normal cognition and wish to have enhanced cognition.

Monitoring Progress:

Regularly monitor patients progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed. Track improvements in cognitive performance through objective measures and client feedback.

Education and Training:

Educate patients about the principles of cognitive enhancement and provide guidance on maintaining cognitive health. Offer training sessions and workshops to teach cognitive skills and strategies.

Research and Development:

Stay updated on the latest research in cognitive science, neurology, and related fields. Contribute to the development of new interventions and techniques for cognitive enhancement through research and innovation. Must be interested in running clinical trials.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, progress, andinterventions. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards regarding patient confidentiality and data protection.

Qualifications:Advanced degree (e.g., Master's or Doctorate) in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, or a related field.Specialized training or certification in cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive enhancement, or a related area.Clinical experience working with individuals with cognitive impairments, neurological conditions, or other cognitive challenges.Strong understanding of cognitive processes, brain function, and neuroplasticity.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.Proficiency in administering cognitive assessment tools and interpreting assessment results.Familiarity with a variety of cognitive enhancement techniques, including cognitive training programs, neurofeedback, biofeedback, and mindfulness practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Commitment to ethical practice and professional development.

Dementia Clinic Providers play a crucial role in helping individuals optimize their cognitive potential and improve their quality of life. They combine scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and personalized approaches to empower patients in achieving their cognitive goals. You will be working with both patients that have risk factors for Alzheimer's, patients with mild cognitive impairment, patients with dementia and patients seeking enhancement of normal cognition. Must be able to aggressively research all available methods of cognitive enhancement and then develop an integrated program here in Gillette, Wyoming that you would roll out and run to treat patients here on site. You must be open to alternative therapies and be a go-getter with a serious desire to help those with cognitive dysfunction.
