Target Salary:
$90-115K
MUST
have experience with headliner pistons and/or connecting rods at a minimum to be considered
Job Summary:
Design engine components, specifically core engine components such as cylinder heads, liners, pistons, rings, connecting rods, valves, bearings, etc. The engineer will be responsible for carrying out required duties not only to support engineering and R&D projects, but also quality, supplier development, manufacturing, and field service organizations.
Job Duties:
Create cost effective solutions for design of power assembly components including cylinder heads, liners, pistons, connecting rods and bearingsGather and evaluate mechanical design requirements to develop conceptual solutionsAnalysis of mechanical components in engine systemsDevelop, implement, and maintain engineering designsPlan and implement experimental tests and/or development programsSupport supplier development and prototyping of experimental partsSupport engineering evaluation of field failures and drive root cause and corrective action initiatives to solve customer problemsQualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentCollege level training in theory and practical aspects of applied mechanics, heat and mass transfer and its applicationsDeep knowledge of engine and engine support systems including engine core components and its cross interactionsExperienced in diesel engine technologyProficient in engineering tools to aid in design and development of engine componentsAbility to do static/thermal structural simulationsExperienced in design validation of mechanical componentsExperienced in failure analysis of mechanical systems and developing solutions to solve failure modeUnderstanding of engineering theory and principles of designQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
