Position Overview:They are looking for a hands-on CFO/Controller who can seamlessly bridge the gap between strategic financial leadership and day-to-day financial operations. This role is crucial for setting up robust financial processes, improving our current systems, and preparing the company for potential future transactions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the professional services industry, with a strong preference for those with experience in home health care, particularly related to Medicaid and Medicare.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead strategic financial initiatives, including planning and preparing the company for potential mergers, acquisitions, or sales.Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Oversee a finance and accounting department consisting of 3 to 5 direct reports, fostering team efficiency and accuracy.Assess and enhance the current financial systems, particularly in financial management and payroll processing, transitioning from our current QuickBooks desktop system.Implement new finance and accounting systems to modernize and streamline operations.Provide clear, actionable financial insights to the board, which consists of the CEO and COO, to guide decision-making.Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with both short-term objectives and long-term goals, supporting the company's growth trajectory.Track and report on weekly KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as visits, hours worked, mileage, and other relevant metrics to ensure alignment with financial and operational goals.Qualifications:
Proven experience in a hands-on CFO/Controller role, particularly in companies where both strategic oversight and tactical execution were required.Strong background in professional services; experience in the home health care industry is highly desirable, especially with Medicaid and Medicare.Experience in financial management within family-owned businesses, particularly those that have undergone or are planning for transactions (M&A).Demonstrated ability to set up and implement modern financial systems in companies with outdated processes.Hands-on experience in managing and optimizing payroll systems, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with QuickBooks.Excellent communication skills, particularly in interacting with a family-owned business and a board composed of family members.M&A and transactional experience are a significant plus.Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Preferred Experience:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the home healthcare industry, particularly with Medicaid/Medicare financial processes.Experience working with companies that have undergone or are planning to undergo transactions such as acquisitions or sales.Familiarity with ERP systems or modern financial software is a plus.Why Join Us?
