Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina is a convivial poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. This vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviche, and table-top sizzling fajitas, fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila & mezcal, as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

Job OverviewAs a Food & Beverage Manager at La Piscina, you will play a role in overseeing the daily operations and overall success of the restaurant. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient functioning of all aspects of the establishment, from guest services to staff management to financial performance. Your role combines leadership, organizational skills, and providing quality hospitality service.

Responsibilities & DutiesSupervise and support FOH restaurant colleague; provide ongoing training and development to maintain a skilled and motivated teamUphold high standards of guest service to ensure a positive dining experienceAddress guest feedback and concerns promptly and professionallyAssist Restaurant General Manager with day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, managing reservations, and maintaining a clean and safe environmentMonitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies and ingredients, and manage food costs to maintain profitabilityDevelop and adhere to budgets, monitor sales performance and implement cost-saving measures to maximize profitabilityEnsure the restaurant and colleagues comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and licensing requirementsFoster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, effective communication and a strong work ethicCollaborate with the management team to set long-term goals, plan for growth and implement strategies for successEducation & Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalency, post high school education and degree preferredMinimum of three (3) years food and beverage supervisory experience requiredBachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant, or culinary management is preferredFood Handler & TABC CertificationStrong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skillsExperience with training, financial management, and guest serviceFamiliar and comfortable with interviewing candidates, handling colleague concerns and holding colleagues accountableEffectively communicate with the management team, guests, and colleaguesIdentify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skillsDemonstrate ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issuesUses basic computer hardware and softwareMove, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistanceStand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shiftReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stoopingAbility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work outdoors in various types of weatherRequired Skills & Abilities
