Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent in this position provides medication evaluation and treatment as well as counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, and families, including individual, group, and family therapy. Provides parenting education and other prevention/educational programs.
Minimum Requirements: Ability to handle stressful and possible volatile situations Knowledge of generational trauma and substance misuse Ability to conduct initial diagnostic intakes and assessments Ability to create culturally appropriate treatment plans based on biopsychosocial evaluation and diagnostic assessment Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to make independent decisions based on protocol Basic Word and Excel skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills Must possess the following: APRN license in the State of Connecticut and Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the Human Services field working with adults and adolescents Experience providing counseling services to alcohol and drug-dependent clients, including intervention and relapse prevention Experience in planning and implementing prevention and educational programs
