Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

This position serves as the Program Manager for the Center for Regional and Rural Connected Communities (CR2C2). The person hired for this position is responsible for project management and supports communication and marketing, data collection and management, information analysis and decision making for CR2C2 and its associated laboratories, projects, and activities.

This person is responsible for approving, under the direction of the CR2C2Director, all project management, financial, and human resource transactions and managing all department accounts, both University and externally funded, in addition to other business functions within CR2C2 and its associate laboratories and projects.

This person helps ensure the Center's financial stability and compliance with University and grant policies and procedures. It may also supervise personnel responsible for clerical and financial tasks.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

North Carolina A & T is a public land grant high research activity university that enrolls over 13,300 students. The University is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service.

The Center for Regional and Rural Connected Communities (CR2C2) was initially funded by U.S. Department of Transportation in 2023. CR2C2 will serve as the Region 4 University Transportation Center (UTC) charged with addressing transportation challenges within the southeastern region of the United States.

Minimum Requirements Master's Degree in management, relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering), or transportation related discipline and 1 year of similar experience, or Bachelor's Degree in management, relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering), or transportation related discipline and 2 years of experience Possess a high level of initiative and the ability to multitask and resolve problems with decisiveness and patience. Possess good organizational skills; detail oriented. Able to prioritize tasks. Demonstrated integrity, dependability, and competence. Able to work independently requiring minimal supervision. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to make presentations utilizing excellent oral communication and facilitation skills. Strong critical thinking, analytical, writing, communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

Master's Degree in management, relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering), or transportation related discipline Project management experience and training. Work experience in managerial accounting and/or transportation-related fields. Experience with project management tools and software. Proficient in statistical analysis applications. Ability to work independently as well as be an integral part of a team. Experience with fiscal management of contracts and grants in a University or College setting Required License or Certification
