Overview

Position manages the activities, staff and budgets for supply chain. Responsible to oversee daily activity of all logistics processes including transportation, preparation of surgical case carts and instruments, internal distribution of supplies, management of inventory (including those booked as assets and expenses), appropriate staging of products for consumption, receiving, decontam, and product disposition. Represents supply chain related issues with assigned customers and the corporate supply chain team. Participate and support strategic initiatives in the areas of customer service improvement, cost reductions, process improvements, inventory management, projects, and other initiatives. Responsible for supporting supply expense variance analysis, identifying cost drivers and partner with leaders to implement cost saving projects at sites. Coordinates extensively with senior leadership and department leadership to maximize service levels and minimize costs. Provide leadership for assigned focus areas which could include: customer service, compliance, site development, , management, training or others as assigned.

Manage supply chain activities and staff. This includes but is not limited to understanding assigned work processes and customer requirements for products, equipment and services

Manages supply chain functions to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective supply chain services which meet or exceed customer expectations

Works collaboratively with customers to extend expertise to support operational needs. Acts as key communicator and advocate for system supply chain process. Review, design, and implement processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Provide supply chain expertise in “best practice” development.

Develop supply chain strategic support plans focusing on growth and expansion opportunities.

Create and maintain an effective management climate that insures all employees are actively “engaged” in the execution of the supply chain mission, are participating in the improvement process and are appropriately challenged in the execution of their daily activities.

Responsible for routinely measuring the performance of department processes, procedures and goals.

Manage the dispensing of supplies to effectively and efficiently replenish and stage products throughout sites in order to meet customer’s needs while actively forecasting inventory reductions and improvement opportunities

Assists with financial variance analysis and develop action plans to assist department leadership in controlling supply and material costs.

Assist with the annual capital and operational budgets through understanding and planning for future staffing and equipment levels.

Responsible for coaching and mentoring all supply chain staff on human resource management of employees. Oversee supervisors in the interview process. Work with HR to select the best candidates. Develop, educate and evaluate all employees annually and conduct disciplinary and recognition processes as needed.

Required

Education

BA/BS, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Nursing, Related or 5 years healthcare supply chain leadership experience

Experience

5 Years supervisory and non-healthcare supply chain & management experience or 3 years supervisory and healthcare supply chain experience

License/Certification/Registration

N/A

Preferred

Education

MBA/MS/MA, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Related

Experience

8 years non-healthcare supply chain management or 5 years healthcare supply chain management experience

License/Certification/Registration

CMRP, APICS, Value Stream, Six Sigma, Lean
