About the Role
Overview
We seek an experienced financial professional to lead Appgate's accounting and finance team to the next level. This role will be crucial in driving Appgate's success and ensuring the integrity of our operations. The team is responsible for technical accounting operations, financial reporting, international tax reporting, internal controls and risk management,and stakeholder management (including senior leadership, the board of directors, and professional services firms).Position ResponsibilitiesPlanning and coordinating all accounting and finance functions;Manage, monitor, and review the month-end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained;Manage the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end consolidation process;Monitor and review the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements for all entities;Preparation of internal and external financial statements and forecasts, including the development of analysis, key metrics, and reporting to solve business issues;Implement and monitor adequate and effective internal controls;Implement and monitor adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting;Coordinate with auditors for the year-end financial statement review/audits;Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance;Coordinate tax planning and compliance with internal and external resources;Communicate with senior leadership and business unit leadersAbility to travel (up to 20%)Experience & QualificationsBachelor's degree higher in business or accounting; MBA, MFA, and/or CPA is highly preferred7+ years of relevant experience; National accounting firm experience is highly valued, software-as-a-service industry experience preferredStrong leadership and management skills, with experience building, training, and retaining an effective teamComprehensive knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reportingDetail-oriented, conscientious, and able to work independently to meet assigned deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders; Spanish language proficiency is a plusDemonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and metrics, with a deep understanding of finance analytics and systems (SAP knowledge is preferred)
