Clinician Educator Track,Assistant/Associate/Professor
to teach and practice at UNM Children's Hospital.Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine comprises of 50 facultyanesthesiologists, 31 residents, 6 fellows, and 41 CRNA/CAAs covering 28operating rooms, and 7 NORA locations, and perform 24,000+ anesthesia cases ayear.Protected academic time is offered to pursueeducational, quality, service, or research interests with supportinginfrastructure. Leadership opportunities are available within the Division,Department and at the University level. Faculty development program includingformal mentorship is available to help launch your academic career. Our
pediatric anesthesiologists
work closely withpediatric medicine and surgical specialists in a collegial environment that fosterscollaboration. The UNM Hospitals through the Division of PediatricAnesthesiology, provide over 7,000 anesthetics per year to the children of NewMexico. UNM Children's Hospital is State's only Children's Miracle NetworkHospital and a quaternary medical referral center. It is States only 52 beddedlevel IV Neonatal ICU and 20 bedded Pediatric ICU with Level I Trauma Center.At UNM School of Medicine we are committed to providing a superior training toour young physicians while providing excellent care to New Mexico's mostvulnerable patients.New Mexico is a great place to live, raise a family and pursue anexciting career . Known as the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico hosts anabundance of unparalleled natural beauties and scenic vistas from mountainhikes, bike trails, backpacking around lakes, rivers and freshwater springs.Extinct volcanos form a breathtaking landscape around the state. During wintersspectacular ski resorts in Santa Fe and Taos region are a driving distance.Temperate climate allows you to enjoy all four seasons in the great New Mexicooutdoors. Minimum Qualifications:Must hold unrestricted State of New Mexico medical license by time of hire.Must have a M.D. or equivalent.Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or within three years of residency and active in the certification process by time of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Completed Pediatric Fellowship.Ability to work with Residents, Medical Students, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists/Anesthesiology Assistant's and do solo cases.Ability to Cover Clinical Call at the Children's Hospital.A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.Application Instructions
