Position Title : Laboratory Specialty Analysis Technologist
Department : 9010|NIRC Administration
Responsibilities :
At the New Iberia Research Center, the Laboratory Specialty Analysis Technologist will play a critical role in the development and performance of new specialty laboratory procedures.
Job duties include:-Standard Operating Procedure generation, training, purchase, and validation of applicable supplies and instrumentation.- Analysis and coordination of activities in PCR amplification and electrophoretic separation of amplified material, cloning, genetic analyses, knowledge of protein expression and purification, tissue culture, B-LCL cell line generation, antibody neutralization procedures and PBMC isolation techniques.-Responsible for handling samples collected from non-human primates, isolate cells from blood, bone marrow and other tissues.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications: -Bachelor of Science degree-OR 5 years of cell culture techniques and/or molecular techniques will substitute for the degree requirementPreferred Qualifications: -A general proficiency in cell culture techniques and/or molecular techniques, including but not limited to RNA/DNA from tissues, PCR amplification and electrophoretic separation of amplified material, cloning, genetic analyses, knowledge of protein expression and purification
