The Controller will lead the company's Accounting, Settlement, and Audit functions. This role ensures that all accounting, audit, and reporting procedures comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

What You Will Do:

Oversee Accounting department activities, including balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, tax accounting, annual external audits, partner periodic audits, and general ledger maintenance.Oversee Settlement activities, including daily settlement, month-end closing, and preparation of internal and external reports.Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.Protect company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.Monitor and confirm the financial condition of the company by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors, ensuring GAAP compliance.Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on necessary actions.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.Interact with the Executive team on accounting-related discussions.Assist Finance Teams in the financial analysis of potential strategic initiatives.Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to achieve goals and objectives effectively.What You Bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with strong accounting experience.CPA or CMA designation.7 to 10 years of experience in a mid to senior-level accounting or audit position, preferably in the payments or fintech industry.Expertise in applying finance, accounting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.Experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, general ledger, and payroll.Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and numerical abilities.Ability to use sound judgment to make decisions based on information gathered and analyzed.Ability to decide and act without having the complete picture; comfortable handling ambiguity.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.Prior experience in auditing payments/fintech.Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems (NetSuite preferred).
