Job Summary: The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company's reports and statements. They will prepare and review financial documents, reports, and statements. They oversee all accounting procedures (e.g. tax returns, month-end closures, budgeting) and advise on general financial matters. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities:Aid in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAPReview and gather financial data to be reported in a clear and understandable mannerAssist in budget preparation, payment schedules, and monthly bank reconciliationAd-hoc reporting and special projects, as requestedSupport the management of accounting operations including but not limited to the general ledger, transactional accounting/accruals, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and weekly cash flowsJob costing and WIP analysis and reconciliationWorking knowledge of spreadsheets and databasesOther activities as directedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challengesStrong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required, and a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong mathematical, analytical, quantitative, and social skillsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and WordHighly organized and detail-orientedProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to read and analyze financial data/reportsCredentials and Experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics (preferred)At least two years' experience in accounting or a related field (preferred)Must be a US citizen
