BerryDunn is seeking a
Tax Manager
to join our Not-for-Profit Tax Services Group. You will join a core team tasked with leading and managing multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our not-for-profit clients. This position is planned to sit in our Portland, ME, Bangor, ME, Manchester, NH or Waltham, MA office locations or remotely to support client work. You will report to the Principal as well as the Senior Tax Manager.You Will:Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for not-for-profit clients across multiple industries.Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognize potential risks and changes in tax policy.Communicate potential risks and changes in tax policy to relevant stakeholders.Assist in making top-level decisions regarding tax filing, preparation, and resolution of questions from federal/state agencies.Actively participate in the marketing, networking, and business development efforts of the office/region.Maintain client relationships and act as the primary contact for complex tax questions.Participate as a critical member of the office/region leadership team.Contribute to the growth and success of the team while maintaining a positive and fun work environment.You Have:
Bachelor's degree and CPA license required.4+ years experience in a similar role managing engagements, clients and staff.Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency inmultiple areas related to not-for-profit tax compliance and tax planning, including corporate (i.e. Forms 990, 990-T, etc.) and state returns, and clients with international compliance tax matters.Expert knowledge of a minimum of 1-2 industry areas which the firm offers.Strong capability to manage, develop and mentor a team of tax professionals.Ability to work with multiple complex clients in a fast-paced environment.Active participation in the firms marketing and recruitment efforts.Ability to effectively delegate work as needed.Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills.Success working collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to compose written tax advice.Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation andpresentation of issues and resolutions to clients.Exceptional client service, presentation and communication skills with a demonstratedability to develop and nurture outstanding client relationships.Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoringComputer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.Experience with Axcess Tax, ProSystem Tax, CCH Engagement, Caseware and XCM a plus.
Compensation Details:The base salary range targeted for this role is $105,000 - $125,000. This salary range represents BerryDunns good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
