Your ideas are our fuel.In your role, you will:Adhere to General Work RequirementsRead engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surfaceApply safety absorbent to hangar floor and spray aircraft surface with stripper to remove all paintAssist with moving aircraft to appropriate bayMask, unmask, and remask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damageRemove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, airblower, and/or brushesSand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paintApply alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipmentAssist with the application of primers to aircraft surfaceAssist with painting parts, components, and/or aircraft surfaceAssist with checking for imperfections after painting and striping application using discrepancy sheet and documented squawks and perform touch-up work as requiredDocument work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as requiredMay perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QAAssist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification**Qualifications**As our ideal candidate,You typically have 18 months experience including preparation and painting aircraft or equivalentYou have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents and customer instructionsYou have the ability to mask corresponding areas of aircraft surface using appropriate materials and methods per operationYou have basic knowledge of mixing paints, color matching, and different paint systems, for example, high solids, conventional, and lacquerYou have the ability to paint aircraft parts and components as requiredYou have the ability to prepare aircraft surface for paint, for example, sanding, grinding, buffing, sealing, application of putty, and alodine to areas of aircraft surfaceYou have the ability to operate powered lifts as requiredBombardier is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
