Position Overview
As an experienced member of our Cellar team, the Cellar Tech III responsibilities will include all cellar operations. This position will operate under general supervision performing various cellar tasks. In addition to Cellar tasks, the Cellar Tech III will help to cultivate and enforce a culture of teamwork, accountability and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Tank and barrel additions.Juice/wine racking and transferring to tank and tankers.Pump-overs and punch-downs.Removing pomace from tanks.Barrel filling, topping and stirring.Tank and equipment sanitation.Filling out work orders.Preventative Care on all cellar equipment including but not limited to pumps, presses, filters and hoses.Operate Crossflow.Operate ED machine.Operate all presses.Operate STARS unit.Operate VELO.Charmat starters and re-fillsOperate crush pad.Operate Blue Morph Sanitation machine.Assist in training Cellar Levels I and II.Adheres to and assists with compliance in all safety procedures, personnel procedures and policies, and GMP standards.Communicates effectively with team members, leadership and other departments.Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.Other tasks, in any department, as assigned by Management.Requirements
A successful candidate's background includes:
Previous crush experience and knowledge of winery cellar, 3-5 years.Forklift experience preferred.Ability to work outdoors in cool and hot temperatures.Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy environments.Ability to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment is required.Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and work at catwalk heights of 25 feet.Must be able to work nights, overtime and weekends.Hours: Full Time (plus overtime).Ability to work individually and within team to achieve daily cellar goals.Ability to read/understand work orders.Ability to step in the lead position in case of absence.Ability to multitask is necessary.Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances.Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stretch, reach, grasp, crouch, turn, and kneel.
