Job Description
The Accounting Manager for our RHOME rental division is responsible for gathering, analyzing, verifying, and the reporting of financial information and accounting production queues. The Accounting Manager may be responsible for hiring, training, and coaching subordinates, as well as enforcing corporate company policies, rules, and procedures. The Accounting Manager is responsible for and will oversee certain financial objectives. The Accounting Manager will help guide other departments/divisions/branches by applying observations and recommendations to their financial operations. The Accounting Manager may also be responsible for updating company information by participating in any educational opportunities that can advance the company's current financial model.
This role supports our clients and employees by supervising the Rental accounting team. Our company leverages accounting experience and knowledge to create a support team to provide guidance, escalation resolution, and strategy design for our company's growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the daily activities of the Rental accounting department.Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors.Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget and accounting.Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments.Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Vendor setups and year end 1099 processing.Oversee month end close.Review bank and balance reconciliations.Other duties as assigned.Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
Property Accounting experience preferred, but not required.Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, Rent Manager or other major accounting software preferred.Knowledge of GAAP at a proficient level.Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at an expert level.Knowledge of typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.) at a proficient level.Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).Strong organizational skills.Dynamic leadership talent to support team of 3-5 staff.Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.Confidentiality and discretion in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.Time management and time critical prioritization skills.Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree RequiredMasters Degree Preferred7 - 10 years of directly related or closely related experience3 - 5 years of Management and/or Supervisory experienceTravel Requirements
Limited travel may be required (in metroplex)Working Conditions
