2nd Shift Packaging Operator

Summary:

•This position is responsible for operation of running product through the operating production machines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Must follow all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).

2. Responsible for proper start-up and shutdown of all related and assigned equipment.

3. Must have thorough working knowledge of assigned operational procedures.

4. Must be trained and have working knowledge on operation of all packaging equipment used in production (Delta, Illapac, GreyBill Coffee Bagging unit, Cartoners, Net Weigher, Sealers, Shrink Wrap, Vertical Bagger as well as any new packaging equipment procured).

5. Always inspect equipment for any non-conformities and adjust as needed. Notify maintenance and/or manager/supervisor of any issues that you cannot rectify.

6. Verify conformance to specifications (GMP, production standards, etc.)

7. Change or check lot numbers and Best By, Asher code dates for traceability.

8. Maintain a clean work area during your shift, clean equipment, accessories and return to proper storage location after use.

9. Ensure that safety procedures are always being followed during your shift.

10. Cease production and inform a member of the Quality Assurance Department, Line Lead and/or Manager/Supervisor immediately when product does not meet quality standards.

11. Collaborate with lead associate as well as department Manager/Supervisor regarding job assignments.

12. Recommend skills enhancements, self-improvement, leadership, and motivational training for overall benefit of the team

13. Ensure all necessary raw material and packaging materials are available for completion of job assignments.

14. Complete and validate all required quality checks throughout the shift.

15. Make sure that department equipment is maintained in the highest state of readiness.

16. Ensure that product quality standards are consistently met.

17. Timely completion of production schedules to maintain customer satisfaction.

18. Develop a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment.

19. Required to possess and demonstrate a restless sense of urgency on the timeliness and quality of their work.

20. Performs and assures all duties are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner.

21. Maintains a positive attitude when interacting with Asher's team members and customers.

22. Comes to work with a "can do" attitude, and "what can I do to help" mentality.

23. Performs other job-related duties as requested and required by Asher's Management team in area of responsibility as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

•While performing the duties of this job the Machine Operator must be willing to stand and walk over an eight (8) hour shift. The Machine Operator must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, either physically or with the aid of industrial material handling equipment

•Ability to read, write and comprehend in English.

Education:

•High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

•1-3 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment or combination of education and experience.
