Description

This position is responsible for providing hardware and software technical support, consultation, and/or training to users of computer and other information technology based systems located throughout college facilities. This position requires a basic knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of technologies and will interact with a broad range of users requiring strong communication skills and the ability to use a variety of technical resources. This position will work independently as well as in collaboration with the Information Services Department team.Example of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.Provides technical support related to information technology hardware and software by conducting technical trainings and providing helpdesk support to users.Identifies and troubleshoots problems associated with information technology hardware and software.Installs, maintains, updates, upgrades, and/or repairs information technology hardware and software.Prepares a variety of records and reports to document operations and comply with department policies and procedures.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.Evaluates potential hardware and software to meet user needs.Supports hardware and software migrations; assists with capacity planning..Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Typical Qualifications

Education and/or ExperienceAssociate degree (A.S., A.A.) or two-year technical certificate in Computer Science or related area; and 2-4 years of related experience.Supplemental Information
